Kuala Lumpur, 28 August 2025 – At the third installment of the Strata Management Seminar 2025, our partner Lai Chee Hoe shared the stage with LSr Looi Kam Seng, Director of JUPEM Selangor, in a session that drew strong participation from industry stakeholders.

Mr. Lai delivered a practical presentation on the mechanisms for addressing defects in common property, highlighting effective safeguards against frivolous or unfounded complaints. His session underscored the importance of balancing residents’ rights with fair and efficient management practices.

LSr Looi then guided the audience through the relevant provisions of the National Land Code and the Licensed Land Surveyors Act 1958. Most notably, he shed light on the prerequisites for establishing a Subsidiary Management Corporation and the proper procedures for submitting an application for limited common property for official consideration.

The seminar offered valuable perspectives from both the legal and technical standpoints, reinforcing the importance of sound governance and compliance in Malaysia’s evolving strata landscape.
