It is high time that our local Strata Management Act 2013 undergoes a significant overhaul or at least some amendments to better align with the evolving landscape of strata community living.
In light of this, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government under the guidance of Jabatan Perumahan Negara has kick started the process in establishing the parameters and policies for such amendments.
To facilitate this effort, JPN has appointed CHA us led by our partner Lai Chee Hoe to co-chair the small group discussions with various stakeholders. We have developed specific tailored questions for different groups started off our engagements with Commissioner of Buildings of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan on 9 and 10 October 2024, followed by REHDA Malaysia on 24 October 2024.
The Ministry will actively seek input from other stakeholders including JKPTG, Property Management Companies, Strata Management Tribunal, Judiciary, Lawyers, strata owners and COBs of other states.
