Last week (Oct 29-30), we brought together key stakeholders for crucial deliberations on the first draft of amendments to the Second Schedule of the Strata Management Act 2013.
This marks a pivotal moment. The draft, prepared in collaboration with Lai Chee Hoe, Puan Izzah, and her team from Jabatan Perumahan Negara, is the first to formally document concerns raised by administrators, Commissioner of Buildings, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
These proposed amendments aim to provide much-needed clarity on previously vague issues, explicitly define the roles of office bearers, and introduce flexibility for online meetings and e-voting. This is a vital step toward a clearer, more efficient regulatory framework for strata management in Malaysia.
